At Sunflower Montessori pre-school Kinlough children discover things individually using all five senses. We believe children shouldn’t be pressurised at a young age and that learning at their own pace is much more effective for their future education. Montessori Education is an exciting process of self-discovery leading to confidence, independence, self-discipline and a hunger to learn.
unflower Montessori was founded in 2008. It is situated in the heart of Kinlough village and caters for children from 2 and a half to 5 years.
We run a morning session Mon-Fri 9.30-12.30 with the option of staying until 2pm .
We are notified to Tulsa (Child and Family Agency) and are inspected by them. Our lastest inspection is available to view on www.Pobal.ie.
We are the only Montessori School in Leitrim to be accredited with St Nicholas Montessori Society of Ireland.
We are a “Smart Start Healthy Ireland Health Promoting School” We received this award in July 2015.
We are registered for the ECCE government Pre-School scheme which provides a free pre-school year for children aged 3 years. Children are entitled to two free pre-school years.
Staff are qualified in the Montessori Method of Education, Child Protection, First Aid, Buntas with the Irish Sports Council, Respecting Difference Programme and Simon and Friends Road Safety Programme. Sarah is trained in the Mini Me Yoga programme for children.
Sarah qualified as a LINC Co-Ordinator in 2017 ensuring that we are providing an inclusive environment for all children.
