Castlefield Montessori School is fully equipped with all the materials that are required in a modern Montessori classroom. The staff have higher level qualifications and a low child-teacher ratio enables a high level of individual attention to be given, whilst allowing the child the freedom to develop social skills within the class group.
A number of subjects are taught using the Montessori principles such as: Practical Life, Culture Subjects, Sensorial Material, Arts/Crafts, Language (Oral and Written), Reading, Music, Mathematics, Dance, Oral Irish, Cookery, Gardening and Drama as well as outdoor play.
The Toddler Group (6 children) offers the children a chance to maybe mix for the first time with children of their own age. Children gain social skills and are able to interact with others on a day to day basis, enhancing their development, especially language, greatly. Arts/Crafts, play, singing, dancing, water play, outdoor activities and playdough are all part of the daily routine in this group.
The Montessori Class caters for children from 3 to 6 years.
The Toddler Group caters for children aged 2 to 3 years.
All staff are fully qualified and experienced. The school is registered with the Tusla and St. Nicholas Montessori Society. We are also members of Early Childhood Ireland.
Our aim is to give quality childcare, allowing the children to have fun whilst learning in quality surroundings.
